MindEase Billing: Annual Charity Giving 2020
What’s our favorite part about giving back through charity donations? It’s not just that we get to contribute to causes we care about. It’s also an opportunity for us to come together around causes, think bigger than our everyday lives, and activate our community.
At MindEase, we have a tradition of giving. Every year, we donate to three charities. And deciding which charities will be recipients is a communal process for us. First, we ask our staff to come up with a list of candidate organizations and causes they care about. They vote on that list. Then, we take the top six staff picks and bring those to our clients. Our clients have a chance to give input too.
Most years, we narrow it down to 3. This year? Well, let’s just say it ended up being the kind of year where everyone needed a win.
BLM is a global movement whose mission is to combat and counter acts of violence and marginalization against Black communities. They seek to affirm all black lives and create a non-violent space where there is only joy, freedom and acceptance.
Basic Rights Oregon was formed in 1996 with the vision to ensure that all LGBTQ Oregonians live free from discrimination and be treated with dignity and respect in every community in the state.
For more than six decades, Defenders of Wildlife has been a leading force in the protection of wildlife and wildlands. Defenders work on the ground, in the courts, and on Capitol Hill to protect and restore imperiled wildlife across North America and around the world.
Earthjustice is a non-profit public interest law organization fighting to preserve, protect, and promote a healthier, more sustainable world for everyone using the power of the law.
MPJI protects and defends the human rights of BLACK transgender people by organizing, advocating, creating an intentional community to heal, by developing transformative leadership, and by promoting collective power.
An independent, global movement providing medical aid and emergency response where it’s needed most. Doctors Without Borders is dedicated to advocacy and the principles of humanitarian medicine that aims to advance medical ethics and improve access to healthcare regardless of race/politics.
We’re proud to be giving back to each of these associations this year. And we’d like to take a moment and use this space for these causes, because it matters. And because sometimes, lifting others up is how we lift ourselves up, and 2020 has just been that kind of year.
